History

Customize Cleaning was established in 1996 to help college students and moms with young children who could only work part-time. After mailing out literature to twenty apartment complexes we finally got one complex in Baltimore, MD. Our journey began with dollar store supplies, one refurbished commercial vacuum, and three ladies ready to clean and arriving in a 1990 Ford Mustang GT-5 speed!

After one year, due to the building boom, we acquired more apartment complexes and post-construction cleaning; and on our way to becoming bigger than we ever imagined.

Our contracts were coming in mostly due to word of mouth, and we eventually had to create more positions to fulfill the work order. By the year 2000, Customize Cleaning had 4 different crews in Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia. We were known for being punctual, efficient, and having a yes we can get it done mindset.

The 2008 building boom came to a halt and we had to shift our focus primarily on apartment move in/out cleanings and acquired a new category- residential cleaning. This business move ensured that we would survive the economic stresses and our employees would have jobs.

We survived the economical challenges and here we are, 26 years later and expanding.

Our focus at Customize Cleaning has not changed after 26 years. We focus on building and enduring relationships with our clients by being available, offering timely and reliable services, and giving the client what they expect……and more!
